Ypao Beach Park
Ypao Beach Park on Pale San Vitores Road is a beautiful spot in Tumon, a favourite on Guam for snorkeling and it’s even free! Surrounded by a coral reef line, the surf at Ypao Beach is very calm, making it perfect for beginners and young snorkelers. As well as an abundance of exotic fish, enjoy the water sports like paddle boarding and the picnic area with BBQ’s. Lots of parking, white sand and lifeguards makes Ypao Beach a great day trip for the family, just don’t forget your own snacks and drinks as there are no vendors on site.
Two Lovers Point, Tamuning, Guam
Puntan Dos Amantes, also known as Two Lovers Point, is a 400-feet high cliff side with incredible views of Tumon Bay and the Philippine Sea. This breathtaking lookout is also the site of an ancient local legend of two forbidden lovers who leaped off this cliff to their death so they could be together forever in life and in death. You can see the views without going onto the lookout platform, but it’s recommended to pay the small admission of $3.00 and view the sight in all its beauty. A perfect location for romantic wedding photos, or buy a padlock to hang on the fence and commemorate your visit.
Chamorro Village is in the heart of the capital of Guam, Hagatna, and is the best place for both locals and tourists to indulge in authentic food, arts and crafts and entertainment. A night market is hosted in the village on Wednesday nights where you can enjoy BBQ style food, go shopping for arts and crafts, jewelry and clothing, or dance to reggae music from a local band in the center court. A must visit in Guam is the Asu Smokehouse for the most delicious brisket you can buy, some may even say it is the best BBQ on the island!
