The renter and the driver must possess a valid driving license for at least 5 year.
Driving license printed with non Roman Alphabet (Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Cyrillic etc) must be complemented by an International driving license.
Please show a valid ID card or passport at time of pick up.
Maximum rental period per rental is 34 days.
There are documents/cards that you must bring when collecting the vehicle:
A credit card or Sixt Express card. The credit card must be in the name of one of the drivers.
A passport or valid identity card. Customers who hold a Sixt Express card do not require a passport.
Special rental information by booking of Prepaid rates
A booking can be changed up to 48 hours before the start of the rental (on availability) in return for an alteration charge of 20.00 EUR. Any payment already made towards the rental will not be refunded; nor shall any differential amount be refunded if this alteration leads to a lesser rental cost.

A booking can be cancelled before the start of the rental. In the event of cancellation, the payment already made towards the rental will be paid back subject to a cancellation charge. The cancellation charge shall be the amount of the rental charge (including any extras and charges) for a maximum of 3 rental days. In the event that the booked vehicle is not collected or not collected at the agreed time, the rental charge already paid shall be withheld in full.
Please advise that in the event of a fault-accident, we do not refund unused days.
Renters under 25 and over 78 must produce a note from their protection company showing that they have been driving accident free for the past five years.
The driver has to be in possession of a valid driving license for at least 5 years.
In Ireland, the following rules apply for the minimum age:
21/5 years for the vehicle groups MBMN, MCMN, EBMN, ECAN ECMN, EDMN, CCAN, CCMN, CDAR, CDMN, IDAR, IDMN, IDMR.
26/5 years for the vehicle groups CWMN, IFAR, IFMR, ILMR, IVMR, IWMR, SDAR, SDMR, SVAR, SVNR, FDAR, FDMR, PFAR.
30/5 years for the vehicle groups FVAN, FVMN, LDAR, LDMR.
Drivers under 25 are eligible to drive at an extra charge of 30.00 EUR/day on car groups MBMN, MCMN, EBMN, ECAN, ECMN, EDMN, CCAN, CCMN, CDAR, CDMN, IDAR, IDMN, IDMR only.
All car groups not listed are not available for young drivers.
Conditions of Payment
We accept all credit cards from internationally recognised credit card companies - such as American Express, Diners Club, Eurocard/Mastercard, Visa.
We do not accept any prepaid cards or debit cards.
Cash and check deposits are not accepted.
Sixt CarExpress Servicecard is only accepted in combination with a valid Credit Card.
The following credit cards are accepted: Eurocard/Mastercard, AmericanExpress Card, VISA Card.
We do not accept any prepaid cards or any other debit cards.
The renter must be the owner of the indicated credit card. The authorised driver details and method of payment will be confirmed at reservation stage and cannot be amended. The confirmed credit card should be valid and available for presentation on collection of the vehicle. All extra costs that occur during the car rental will be charged to this credit card.
By booking a prepaid rate, the credit card will be charged before the start of rental, directly with the estimated total amount of rental. The amount that will be charged on your credit card comprises the price of the rental as well as all additional extra fees.
The rental charge (plus any other charges agreed, e.g. exemptions from liability, delivery charges, airport charges etc.) plus Value Added Tax in the statutory amount applicable from time to time must, as a matter of principle, be paid in full for the agreed rental period, i.e. if the vehicle is collected late or returned early there shall be no refund.
Sixt CarExpress Servicecard is only accepted in combination with a valid Credit Card. Before a vehicle is hired, we always obtain an approval of the amount of the rental cost, plus the excess applicable. The deposit for high-value vehicles may differ. The exact deposit is determined on collection since the amount is dependent on the vehicle.
Please note, that payments with credit card may require the PIN of the credit card.
General Protection Conditions
Third Party Insurance (TI)
Protection coverage for the vehicle includes Third Party Liability with a maximum cover of 5,000,000.- Euro for damaged vehicle and unlimited liability for personal injuries. Protection coverage is limited to the Island of Ireland only.

Collision Damage Waiver (CDW)
Sixt rent a car only recognise protections/waivers supplied by Sixt rent a car or by an Irish based protection company. Protections and covers issued by others will also be recognized if renter provides a letter from protection/cover provider specifically stating that cover is in place in Ireland for the booked vehicle. If renter declines Waivers, Protections and Covers offered by Sixt rent a car and renter does not transfer cover by an Irish based Protection Company, then renter personally assumes total financial responsibility for damage to or loss of the rental vehicle and will be charged by Sixt rent a car for all damage to or loss of the rental vehicle. In this instance the renter must provide a deposit to the full value of the car.
Renter must provide written proof to Sixt at commencement of rental that the renter's credit card scheme is valid in the Republic of Ireland, for the type of vehicle being rented. In this case, the renter is liable for the full value of the vehicle, and will be required to leave a preauthorisation of EUR 5,000.00.

Indemnity Cover reduces the amount of pre-authorisation required.

Theft Protection (TP)
Theft Protection removes the driver's responsibility to a part of the vehicle in case of theft.

If the renter has a traffic/parking fine during the rental the renter will be charged an Administration Fee of 50.00 EUR together with the first settlement-proposition.

Should a customer require official damage and repair documentation an administration fee will apply. 75.00 EUR per damage claim.

M50 Motorway Electronic Tolls
Tolls are automatically charged to the rental vehicle on the M50 Motorway only.
The renter should not make payments for these tolls.
Sixt Ireland will charge the amount incl. administration fee to the renter.
If the renter pays the toll directly, the receipt must be provided for refund to Sixt Ireland.
13,50% applies for rentals up to 34 days.
23% applies for rentals of 35 days or longer, for fuel and tolls.
All rates include tax/VAT (if incurred).

We welcome feedback from our customers on their experience with our suppliers. We may, at our discretion, provide you with reasonable assistance in resolving any dispute you may have with a supplier.
Our total liability to you in relation to your use of this website and the information contained on this website will not exceed the dollar amount of the deposit we have received from you in relation to your booking/rental. Refunds will not be made for bookings cancelled due to inclement weather. Again, we strongly recommend that you take out travel insurance. Your use of this website is governed by the laws of New Zealand and the jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts.
To make a booking you must complete our booking form which is easy to follow and secured with the latest encryption technology. Once we receive your form, we will, subject to availability, confirm your booking by emailing you a confirmation voucher and invoice.
If you are booking via phone, please make sure you have read the terms and conditions of the vehicle you wish to rent first. Our reservations consultant will ask you if you have read the terms and agree to them before proceeding. The onus is always on the renter to ensure they make themselves fully aware of the terms displayed on our website.
In booking on this website you acknowledge that we disclose your information to your selected Supplier in order to provide the requested rental services.
Vehicle capacity and fitness to drive
Under no circumstances are you permitted to carry more passengers than the vehicle you rent is legally registered to carry, and if you do your insurance may be invalidated. The number of seatbelts (and passengers) is indicated next to each vehicle on this website. Luggage capacity where shown is an indication only and we will not be responsible should you be unable to fit your entire luggage into a vehicle. It is your responsibility to choose a journey that is within your capabilities. A vehicle supplier can refuse to rent a vehicle to any person who is in their opinion unfit to drive or does not meet eligibility requirements. In such circumstances we will have no further liability to you.
In the event of cancellation, any deposit amounts paid at the time of booking are non-refundable.
If you are unsatisfied with our service, please contact us within 48 hours of placing your booking or request and we will work to resolve any issues and determine if compensation is due. In the event you have completed your rental and are unhappy with your vehicle, we are happy to assist you in seeking compensation from the operator of the vehicle.
