An initial, non-refundable deposit will be secured at the time of booking confirmation. Accepted credit cards are Visa and MasterCard. Andy’s Auto Rentals also reserves the right to contact the hirer to request an additional booking deposit for peak periods upon booking or prior to arrival.
The balance is payable directly to the supplier prior to arrival. This supplier accepts all major credit cards: Visa and MasterCard. AMEX and Diners Club Cards will incur a 5% surcharge
An authorisation of $1000 will be required prior to your arrival on your credit card, if no additional insurance cover is purchased through the supplier Andy’s Auto Rentals. This authorisation will hold for 7-10 working days.
The initial deposit paid is non-refundable. In addition to forfeiting your deposit, the following charges also apply:
Cancellation 28 days+ prior to pick-up date - No fee
Cancellation 11 to 27 days prior to pick-up date - 20% of Gross Total
Cancellation to 10 days prior to pick-up date - 50% of Gross Total
Cancellation less than 6 days prior to pick-up date or No-show -100% of Gross Rental
There is no refund for late pick up or early return of vehicle.
Andy’s Auto Rentals reserves the right to deduct a further initial booking deposit if required. Through peak periods, this deposit will be non-refundable regardless of cancellation notice times outlined above.
Drivers must be a minimum age of 21 years and hold a current Australian, overseas or International driver’s licence. Please refer to special terms and conditions for hirers between 21-24 years old.
It is a condition of hire that the vehicle be returned with the same level of fuel as when the hire commenced to avoid additional charges. If fuel has to be replaced in the rental vehicle once it is returned, Andy’s Auto Rentals will charge fuel replacement at a maximum rate of $2.25 per liter.
Any infringements will be passed onto the hirer of the vehicle plus an additional administration fee of $100.00 will be charged for any Traffic Fines or Parking Infringements.
All vehicles are 'Smoke Free' and if smoking is detected a cleaning fee of $100.00 will be charged
Minimum driving age is 21 years old up to and including 75 years of age.
Drivers between the ages 21 to 24 years are restricted to certain types of vehicles they can hire. A surcharge of $10 per day will apply to drivers under the age of 25 years. Drivers who are 21–24 years of age incur a higher liability at the rate of $750.00 per incident on top of the standard liability.
Andy’s Auto Rentals has a strict no refund or credit policy for early returns. If you wish to return your rental vehicle early, Andy’s Auto Rentals must be notified before the vehicle is returned. The hirer will be responsible for any additional parking costs incurred if the rental vehicle is returned early without notice.
We strongly recommend that clients ensure they take out the highest level of Travel Insurance. In many cases this will cover any losses incurred if you are forced to cancel your booking.
Hires are based on a 24hr period (unless stated on contract) which begins at the commencement of the rental. If the vehicle is to be returned later than the time indicated on the rental agreement, a fee will be charged. There is a grace period of 1 hour after which there will be a charge per hour for the first 4 hours after which an additional day will be charged
Andy’s Auto Rental does not provide maps or street directories however a GPS can be hired for a small daily fee. Please add this into your initial booking on this website, or contact Andy’s Auto Rentals prior to your arrival if you wish to add it on.
Vehicle Damage Policy
Condition of vehicle
The vehicle is to be returned in the same condition as when the vehicle was collected. The vehicle is also to be returned to the place, by the date and at the time shown on the face of the contract – additional drop off / pick up or late fees may apply if the vehicle is not returned as per the face of the contract (please see above in the rental period section).
If you return the vehicle out of hours or to another destination then the vehicle will be deemed to be returned only when a staff member of Andy’s Auto Rentals takes possession of the keys to the vehicle and as such you will still be responsible for the vehicle and any damage that may be caused to the vehicle, until it is deemed to be returned.
In the event of an accident the hirer is to notify Andy's Auto Rentals immediately and fill in the accident form in the glove box of the car. If there is no accident form provided, please inform Andy’s Auto Rentals who will supply one to you. Failure to notify us within 24 hrs is a contravention of the terms of the contract and the hirer will be liable for the full basic liability of the vehicle. The hirer must not, without Andy's Auto Rentals written consent, admit liability or give any promise of payment or settlement.
In case of an accident the hirer will pay the liability outstanding regardless of whom was at fault. Once the other party admits fault and Andy’s Auto Rentals have been notified in writing that they will pay the full amount, then the liability will be refunded. If the hirer is at fault no refund will be given. All outstanding monies for liability must be paid at conclusion of the hire.
All accidents are to be reported to the Police immediately and a police report must be supplied to Andy’s Auto Rentals, so please ensure that you obtain a copy for your records and ours. Ensure all details of third parties are recorded at the scene. Report to Andy’s Auto Rentals immediately. Accident report forms can be found in the glove compartment and must be filled out and returned to Andy’s Auto Rentals within 24 Hours. Failure to do so could void all or part of insurance coverage. Do not admit liability. Our staff will assist with any difficulties.
All vehicles come fully insured the standard liability is applicable to all, but a collision damage waiver (CDW) may be purchased to reduce this. Please be aware by reducing the liability it does not waive or reduce your liability under a single vehicle incident. If you wish to reduce single vehicle incident on certain vehicles only please ask our staff about Gold Cover.
PLEASE NOTE: If additional insurance is not purchased through Andy’s Auto Rentals and hirer is over 25 years of age a pre authorisation is needed on the customer’s credit card. This amount will be frozen on the credit card for the term of the rental. If the customer chooses to lower the liability a pre authorisation is not needed.
If the hirer is under 25 years but over 21 years an pre authorisation of the liability is needed regardless of the level of insurance cover taken. This amount will be frozen on the customer’s credit card for the term of the rental.
4WD liability when used on unsealed roads will differ from the above schedule and the Andys Auto Rentals office must be contacted for full terms and conditions. The 4wd's are not to be used for towing unless the "towing fee" is paid and shown on the front of the contract and the 4wd must no leave sealed roads unless the "unsealed road/beach use" fee is paid and shown on the face of the contract. Failure to comply with theses conditions will result in all liability coverage being voided and the hirer will be liable for all costs.
Andy’s Auto Rentals vehicles cannot tow weight exceeding 750kg at any time. If you wish to tow with any Andy’s Auto Rentals vehicle, we must be notified prior to collection.
Is available to customers who have purchased CDW. It is only available on cars and 8 Seater vehicles. This option includes Collision damage waiver and single vehicle waiver of $300 for cars and $500 for 8 Seater vehicles. Hail Damages and Theft is also included in this package as well as Windscreen, headlight and tyre protection.
TRUCKS & BUSES
Bodies and underbodies are not covered by insurance unless the vehicle is involved in a multi vehicle collision. If damaged in a single vehicle incident (Example: Drive under any object lower than the vehicle height, impact trees, buildings, awning etc, Damage underbody or any other damages) the full costs incurred to the vehicle and other property will be at the expense of the hirer/renter.
SPORTS & PRESTIGE
Option - No Waiver Taken
Liability in case of accident is at maximum of $3,750. The full amount of your liability ($3750) will be authorised against your credit card prior to rental, thereby 'freezing' your available funds for that amount. This will last 7-10 working days
Cost - $0 (included in rental cost)
Option - Standard Waiver
Multi-vehicle accident liability reduced to $500. Single-vehicle accident liability remains at maximum amount of $3,750. $500 will be authorised against your credit card prior to rental, thereby 'freezing' your available funds for that amount. This will last 7-10 working days
Cost - $25.95 per day (only purchasable directly through Andy’s Auto Rentals)
When towing it is the hirer’s responsibility to have the towed trailer insured, any damage caused by the trailer, to either the tow vehicle, the trailer, any third party property or personal injury will be the sole responsibility of the hirer. Andy’s Auto Rentals do hire luggage trailers on some 8, all 12, 21 and 25 seat buses for a daily fee. If using your own trailer, Andy’s Auto Rentals must be notified prior to arrival and this must reflect on the rental agreement that you have approval to do to so.
SINGLE VEHICLE INCIDENTS
Single vehicle incidents by example are those that do not involve another registered vehicle and would include but not limited to, any over head damage, undercarriage damage, collision with animals, water, hail damage, abuse or negligence however caused is at the hirer’s risk and is not covered by C.D.W. and the hirer's liability will revert to the standard liability, providing no other exclusion terms on the contract have been broken. In the event of a single vehicle accident, no replacement vehicle will be provided and the hirer will be responsible for themselves from that point and there will be no refund of any monies in regards to the unused portion of the hire period. Only exception will be if the hirer has purchased Gold Cover on cars or 8 Seater vehicles only.
Andy’s Auto Rentals service the Brisbane International, Brisbane Domestic and Gold Coast (Coolangatta) airports. All airport collection will incur a collection surcharge.
Brisbane International collection/return
When collecting a vehicle from the Brisbane International location, the vehicle will be parked in a designated parking area on the ground floor of the International Terminal. The vehicle will be left in this parking area with a lock box mechanism on fitted to the window containing the keys to the rental vehicle. Each box has a unique code which will be supplied to you once your rental vehicle has been paid for in full along with a map and a link to a YouTube video to help you find your way.
When returning your vehicle to the airport, you will return it to the same designated car park area, attach the same box to the window of the vehicle and place the keys back in to the box ready for us to collect.
Brisbane Domestic airport collection/return
When collection a vehicle from the Brisbane Domestic airport location, the rental vehicle will be located at Andrews Airport Parking which is off-location from the Brisbane Domestic airport. When you arrive at the airport, you will call the phone number supplied to you once full payment is made, Andrews Airport Parking will then send a shuttle bus to collect you from their pick up location at the Domestic terminal. The bus that they send is only a 10 seat bus, so you will be limited as to how many passengers you may take to the location which is only a short ride from the Domestic Terminal. Once you arrive, you will be handed the keys for the rental vehicle and shown where the vehicle is parked. Andy’s Auto Rentals will leave a completed damage report in the vehicle for you, including the fuel level and odometer reading as well as taking digital photos on the vehicle when it is dropped off. We encourage you to check this damage report to ensure that it is filled out to a standard that you are happy with, as well as take photos of the vehicle yourself. If there are any discrepancies in the damage report, you are welcome to call Andy’s Auto Rentals or simply keep the damage report for the duration of your hire for when the vehicle is collected upon your return.
When returning your rental vehicle to the Brisbane Domestic airport, you will be required to take the vehicle to Andrews Airport Parking who will take the keys from you and place you and your passengers onto a shuttle bus which will take you directly to the same pick up/drop off location at the Brisbane Domestic terminal. We encourage you to again, take photos of the rental vehicle once you have returned the vehicle.
Gold Coast airport collection/return

When you arrive at the airport, you will call the phone number supplied to you once full payment is made, Ready Parking will then send a shuttle bus to collect you from their pick up location at the Gold Coast airport terminal. The bus that they send is only a 10 seat bus, so you will be limited as to how many passengers you may take to the location which is only a short ride from the Gold Coast airport terminal. Once you arrive, you will be handed the keys for the rental vehicle and shown where the vehicle is parked. Andy’s Auto Rentals does not have an office at the Brisbane Airport.
Additional drivers can be added to any rental agreement at a one off cost per additional driver added to the agreement. Any person who drives the rental vehicle must be added on to the rental contract otherwise insurance can be void.
Baby seats and booster seats are available for hire from Andy's Auto Rentals – but please book well in advance as there is only a limited number.
All vehicles are covered by 24 hour roadside assistance however there is a fee payable of $90.00 if there is a call out for driver neglect e.g. running out of fuel, changing tyres or flat batteries
All rates are in Australian Dollars. All rates include G.S.T.
Price Changes and Vehicles
All prices and vehicles are subject to change at any time without prior notice.
The quoted rate includes 200 free kilometers per day, additional kilometres will be charged at $0.28 except the 21&25 seat buses which are $0.35 for each km.
Vehicles are catergorised into groups and within each group could be several models of vehicle. While every effort is made to comply with the customer's requests it is not always possible to provide the exact model requested but a similar vehicle from the same group may be supplied.
Vehicle Area of Use
The vehicle is to be only used on sealed roads unless otherwise stated on your contract. The vehicles are not allowed to go into the Northern Territory, Western Australia or Tasmania.
If you wish to travel outside of the designated areas of Gold Coast – Brisbane – Sunshine Coast, Andy’s Auto Rentals must be notified prior to arrival. Additional charges may apply for travel outside of these areas.
3rd Party Credit Cards
If you wish for another party to use their credit card for payment/authorization purposes, this can be arranged by Andy's Auto Rentals. Please contact the office and talk to one of our staff who will happily arrange this for you.
Terms of booking on this website
The rates on this website are often heavily discounted. This is due to our negotiated rates and bulk buying power. On very rare occasions, a rate may be displayed incorrectly due to our, or a vehicle supplier's error. In such a case, if you book with us at a quoted rate that is incorrect, we will notify you of any price change and give you the option to proceed or cancel. We make every effort to keep information on our site up to date, but we cannot guarantee this website is free of errors or omissions and retain the right to update or change the information published at any time.
To the extent permitted by law we/the owners of this website will not be liable to you or to any third party (whether in contract, tort, or otherwise) for any direct, indirect or consequential loss or damage (including but not limited to any accident, injury, delay or loss of enjoyment) arising out of your reliance upon information contained on this website, including but not limited to your use (or inability to use) any products or services described or procured through this website.
When you pick up your vehicle, you will be required to sign a rental agreement with the supplier of the vehicle. Your rental and use of the vehicle will be governed by the terms of the rental agreement and any other documentation or information provided to you by the supplier at the time you pick up your vehicle. The rental agreement is between you and the supplier and we will not be liable to you or to any third party in relation to the terms of the supplier’s rental agreement or any other documentation provided to you by the supplier at the time of pick up.
While we will make reasonable efforts to ensure we are representing only reputable suppliers, we make no warranty about the fitness or suitability of any third party (supplier) product or service and will not accept responsibility for the quality or fitness of any vehicle. We welcome feedback from our customers on their experience with our suppliers. We may, at our discretion, provide you with reasonable assistance in resolving any dispute you may have with a supplier.
Our total liability to you in relation to your use of this website and the information contained on this website will not exceed the dollar amount of the deposit we have received from you in relation to your booking/rental. Refunds will not be made for bookings cancelled due to inclement weather. Again, we strongly recommend that you take out travel insurance. Your use of this website is governed by the laws of New Zealand and the jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts.
To make a booking you must complete our booking form which is easy to follow and secured with the latest encryption technology. Once we receive your form, we will, subject to availability, confirm your booking by emailing you a confirmation voucher and invoice. The deposit required to secure your vehicle (as shown on the secure booking page) will only be processed on your credit card when your booking is confirmed. Please note that a 1.95% credit card or debit card surcharge will be added when your payment is processed.
A booking is confirmed when you have been emailed a confirmation voucher and at this stage the deposit is processed on your card and becomes non-refundable and any cancellation fees stated in the supplier's terms apply. Upon receipt of your confirmation, please check your details carefully and notify us immediately if there are any incorrect details, as it may not be possible to make changes at a later date.
If you are booking via phone, please make sure you have read the terms and conditions of the vehicle you wish to rent first. Our reservations consultant will ask you if you have read the terms and agree to them before proceeding. The onus is always on the renter to ensure they make themselves fully aware of the terms displayed on our website.
In booking on this website you acknowledge that we disclose your information to your selected Supplier in order to provide the requested rental services.
Please note that some suppliers treat an amendment as a new booking and apply the rate current at the time the amendment is made to recalculate the entire booking amount (not just the days changed). If the rental period is increased, an additional deposit may be required. If the rental period is shortened which results in a reduction of the rental charges, the deposit amount difference between the original and revised deposit will be refunded to you. To request a change to a confirmed booking, please use the alterations request link on your confirmation. Any alterations are subject to availability and the approval of the supplier. We (the owners of this website) do not charge alteration fees.
Vehicle Capacity and fitness to drive
Under no circumstances are you permitted to carry more passengers than the vehicle you rent is legally registered to carry, and if you do your insurance may be invalidated. The number of seatbelts (and passengers) is indicated next to each vehicle on this website. Luggage capacity where shown is an indication only and we will not be responsible should you be unable to fit your entire luggage into a vehicle. It is your responsibility to choose a journey that is within your capabilities. A vehicle supplier can refuse to rent a vehicle to any person who is in their opinion unfit to drive or does not meet eligibility requirements. In such circumstances we will have no further liability to you.
We are committed to providing a quality service and aim for complete customer satisfaction. In the event of cancellation, any refunds or penalties are detailed in the terms and conditions of your selected vehicle that you are asked to read and accept at time of booking. In the event you are unsatisfied with our service, please contact us within 48 hours of placing your booking or request and we will work to resolve any issues and determine if compensation is due. In the event you have completed your rental and are unhappy with your vehicle, we are happy to assist you in seeking compensation from the operator of the vehicle.
